Introducing the new IGLU heat pump controller

When creating a smart energy management ecosystem, we follow a simple logic: technology should serve people. Therefore, considering our customers' preferences, we introduce a new functionality for IGLU heat pumps – a physical, wall-mounted control panel.

Why was a physical controller introduced?

Until now, all IGLU heat pumps were controlled directly via a smart app. This decision was dictated by the 'less is more' philosophy. In other words, fewer redundant elements – more smartness.

"The physical control panel is a solution we initially consciously rejected. We were even a bit proud of it. We believed that control via phone was sufficient and a more modern choice," says Voldemaras Vanagas, our CEO.

However, customer feedback prompted us to reconsider our position. Practice showed that some users missed the physical controller.

"Therefore, we did what we consider the right decision – we listened and responded. Sometimes a step back is still a step forward," states Voldemaras.

We adapt to customer habits

The need for a physical controller became particularly evident in several situations. For example, older people often trust a traditional wall-mounted panel more than a smart app. And for some, the very act of physical control is important. A good example could be a traditional book, which still has its place alongside electronic or audio versions.

However, it's important to emphasize – the mobile app hasn't disappeared. The physical controller is just an additional solution that, in certain cases, provides even more convenience.

Features of the new controller

The controller is designed to be used by all family members – from children to seniors. Get acquainted with its main features:

• clear and user-friendly interface;
• integrated room temperature sensor;
• operates via home "Wi-Fi" network;
• mounts on the wall, in place of a standard electrical switch.

With the controller, you can change the temperature or hot water settings with just a few clicks. Moreover, we’ll allow ourselves to joke that the new controller will always come in handy when you unexpectedly "lose" your smartphone at home again.

Technologies that grow together

Our solutions are designed to quickly adapt to the needs of different markets, homes, or even individual users. The new controller is a perfect example of this.
